Can you spot child abuse and if you can then can you prevent it the right way? A mother of 6 was taped by her 10 year old daughter, while she was making her adopted son hold hot sauce in his mouth because he had lied to her. After hearing this, she asked her son what else happens when you like to me, he says “I get a cold shower” (video, the early show). The mother then places him in the cold shower. In the video, while sitting in the cold show you can hear him screaming. If the child had told you what had happened would you know what to do?
Sometimes it can be hard to know if a child with a bruise or mark is being abused. Children get bruises all the time. They fall of a bike, hit their head on objects, or even pull things off high shelves. Other bruise or marks on a child are strong indications that a child is being hit or abused. By watching the way a child acts can even indicate they are being abuse in some way or form. When you see marks or signs of abuse are you going to know who to call or even what to say when you do call? If you fall into the category of not knowing what to do, this paper will inform you on the proper protocol of dealing with child abuse situations.
This has a great opening story, not to be a jerk but you have a couple missing letters or misspelled words... But you thesis is very clear and thats good. Also is there another word you could use for abuse? you might need to find one or you will be using abuse hundreds of times through out your paper.
ReplyDeleteGREAT INTRO THOUGH! I thought it was very good!
The story is shocking and draws the reader in, however the writing is a bit choppy and unclear at points. You might do better to write this as a they say document relying on the source information to help you better plan it.
ReplyDeleteI like your context based statment, however I think you could make it stronger with a few statistics about unreported child abuse in the US and so forth--as a way to build your point. it is also important that you clarify if you are dealing with potential child abuse or actual child abuse examples.
Have you seent the recent video of the judge who beat his 16 year old daughter? Pretty hard to watch. This came from a judge who ruled regularly in family courts. I think it could help you show that abuse happens everywhere, even where you least expect it.
ReplyDeleteYou've done a good job at getting my attention in the intro. However, you need to go and check your grammar a bit. Good start however!
ReplyDeleteI wasn't drawn in right away. I guess I'm a really boring person! xD I like that you chose an extreme case to put in your introduction, although the grammar does need more attention and I'd like more of a "grab" as a reader of this.
